Using Triscribe for medicines safety
Triscribe has introduced a new chart tracking high-risk doses and combinations of medicines.
Triscribe has introduced a new chart tracking high-risk doses and combinations of medicines. The first version reports 18 medicines safety indicators. Its part of a wider set of tools we have which help you manage safe use of medicines in your hospital.
You can see the full list of safety indicators in the table below.
How it works
We track these 18 medicines safety indicators in several ways. The standalone Safety Indicators tab shows those 18 indicators for a selected ward or group of wards. Because these should be rare, this will often give a blank table.
We are also working on a ward view which will combine these indicators with other safety information. The first version of this shows omitted, early, on time, and late doses.
Medicines safety use cases
Missed doses or medicines not given at the right time have been an important part of our analytics for some time. You can find out more here.
Triscribe also tracks and monitors safe use of medicines in several other ways:
Delayed administrations of Parkinson’s medication. This includes administration counts, time series, league tables and performance trends.
Anticholinergic burden as part of a focus on falls risk.
VTE prophylactic doses to help reduce risk of deep vein thrombosis.
Burden of complex medicines administration to support safe staffing levels.
Why does this matter?
Better data about actual medicines given to real patients in your hospital every day is a vital tool to support safe use of medicines. We update all our analytics at least daily. Triscribe allows you to focus on individual wards or to find all individual patients in a group that is at risk.
Triscribe is expert at extracting, combining and organising hospital medicines data. Everything we build helps you use data you already have.
Medicines safety is one of the most effective ways to use this data to improve patient care. Triscribe makes it easy to get the data you want when you need it. That means less time on spreadsheets and clunky reports. Saving every clinical user at least one hour every week.
We would love to work with you to support your work on medicines safety. Triscribe can only expand and improve our analytics and AI by learning from the real world experience of NHS clinicians.
