Active prescriptions table
Triscribe now shows active antibiotic prescriptions for patients currently in your hospital.
The table shows active prescriptions for antibiotics running longer than X days. You can configure the number of days in the filters. You can also select the wards to view, specific drugs or groups of drugs, and the form (oral, injection, infusion, etc.)
Example use case
Antibiotic course length is a key part of antimicrobial stewardship. Many hospitals have policies to reduce antibiotic course lengths, typically to five days. However, longer courses of antibiotics are sometimes unavoidable.
Triscribe’s active prescriptions table helps pharmacists and microbiologists identify longer courses prescribed for patients in your hospital. Clinicians use this to review those patients and ensure their medical needs support the planned course of antibiotics.
Triscribe software updates the table every day. So your team can take action when its needed.
Prescription length analysis
Active prescriptions adds to Triscribe’s existing antibiotic prescription length chart. Our prescription length chart summarises all antibiotic prescriptions over a chosen time period.
This chart includes a filter to add and compare multiple date ranges. For example, the image below shows prescription lengths during the month of July in 2020, 2021 and 2022.
Example use case
A large teaching hospital introduced a 5 day policy for antibiotic prescriptions. A year later, total antibiotic usage had reduced. The lead antibiotic pharmacist wanted to understand the impact of the policy change, but the data was not available.
Using Triscribe for the first time, she found the information she needed in a couple of minutes. She summed it up:
“We could not get this information any other way.”

Thanks to those of you who have already completed one or both surveys.
